According to recent surveys, Dublin is often mentioned as the most popular choice for financial services firms to relocate to post-Brexit. With over 430 firms that employ 44,000 people in banking, payments, funds, insurance and fintech, Ireland has succeeded in building a strong financial services ecosystem in the last 30 years. Around 300 multinational firms employ 80% of the people working in the internation financial services sector, which makes Ireland the fourth largest exporter of financial services in Europe.

On the 23rd of May 2019, the inaugural FS Dublin Forum gathered two Fintech experts - Alastair Lukies, UK Business Ambassador for Fintech, and Peter Oakes, Founder of Fintech Ireland - to discuss the ever-evolving Financial Services industry and how these evolutions will affect the industry both in Ireland and globally. The event brought together 80 senior decision-makers and professionals working in the industry.

In a highly-engaging and thought-provoking discussion, Alastair Lukies CBE and Peter Oakes covered a wide range of topics affecting the industry - from technology, Brexit, the importance of connectivity and collaboration, to regulatory alignment, diversity and disrupters.
